Weekend Rewind :: 7.25.2010

It's Sunday and it's close enough to my desired bedtime that I have to make some decisions. Laundry, fold diapers, write, play Angry Birds?

I can probably only fit in two of the four. Guess you know what one of them is.

In preparation for and early celebration of this one's first birthday next Saturday, I plan to keep a pretty low profile this week. After all, I have three-hundred fifty some-odd days to reflect on, and these things take time:

In the meantime, here are a few random thoughts from another hot summer weekend.

:: UNO ::

Friday night I had the incredible honor to be able to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of one of my dearest girlfriends. It was a blast to plan and just the best time.

As my gift to her, I took photos of the evening, so I spent a lot of time capturing the gorgeous decorations, food and guests on film memory card.

I also realized there's no such thing as Photoshop in real life, so this one { points at self } needs to pick up some whitening strips pronto.

Thank goodness for post-production.

there, that's better.

:: DOS ::

Sorry for my language, but I'm about to open up a serious can of whoop-ass on these flies. Just sayin'. I am not above buying one of those nasty hanging fly strip things. Hey you, buzzy guy, better watch your back. { creepy angry stare }

:: TRES ::

My friend and neighbor, Natalie from The Busy Budgeting Mama, stopped over for a bit with her hubs and their beautiful little girl, Sophia. Natalie is insanely preggo. Ridiculously. You should head on over and give her some love and encouragement. She's amazing. The whole time she was over, it was one contraction after another, and of course she looked like a model through it all. Say a prayer for her right now that their little baby girl would make her appearance soon soon soon!

:: CUATRO ::

My hubs is awesome. There are few things in the world I am more grateful for than being married to my best friend, and watching him interact with the little girl he's madly in love with.

Looky what I have!

yep, that's a 4.0 and one of you is going to win it, courtesy of the fine folks over at Happy Baby Company.

Happy Baby Company is graciously allowing me to do another review and giveaway...this time for the ridiculously in-demand bumGenius 4.0 in butternut. Over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to use this diaper like crazy, and will report back with my findings, as compared to the much-loved, and now discontinued 3.0. So stay tuned and good luck! This one is sure to be one popular giveaway.

:: SEIS ::

Speaking of giveaways, I'd like to do something non baby-related specifically for my in-real-life friends. So many of you have been so supportive as I kicked off, and I want to thank you. Leave me a comment with your ideas for what you'd like to see me give away, and in the next couple of weeks, I'll do a "how well do you know Jen" contest just for my IRL pals.

:: SIETE ::

Weight Watchers is kicking my butt, mostly because of all the celebrating and baking and laziness over the past week. However, I'm back on the bandwagon and Tuesday morning will tell how badly I blew it. :) In the meantime, I whipped up a kickin' 5-POINT grilled pizza this evening that stopped Sean in his tracks. The recipe will be include in this week's Weigh In post. It's so easy and so fast...and it's sure to become a favorite.

:: OCHO ::

What was meaner: sticking the Cheerios to her face, taking a picture, or posting it here? In our defense, those little guys would have ended up on the floor had we not secured them to the child.

That's all I've got, leaving just enough time for a game of Angry Birds. Laundry...bah!

Till we meet again, Jen
