This one has a diaper rash. Not just any old diaper rash, but the king of all rashes, complete with blisters, broken skin, redness, burning, pain, yeast and bleeding. It's awful. We think it's partially a reaction to something, but no matter what we do, we haven't been able to get ahead of it.
Weeks we tried to combat it and it just got worse and worse and worse. After a visit to the remarkable Dr. H, we were placed on a rigorous regimen of prescription topical antibiotics, clotrimazole, tons and tons of Desitin and Activia twice a day.
And disposable diapers, temporarily, just until it's all cleared up.
Let me start by saying this. It's working. After a week of a routine so involved it required an Excel spreadsheet to track, we are seeing improvement. Let me also say this. Disposable diapers are disgusting and stinky and gross and stinky and expensive and stinky.
And apparently edible.
I can't wait to switch back to cloth diapers, but for now, I think this will be necessary to clear the whole ugly mess from my brain.
